Choir and music ministry at St. Nicholas.

Coordinator: Dr. Steven Ball

The music program at St. Nicholas of Tolentine church focuses on preparing and performing the traditional music of the Roman Catholic liturgy.   The music program reflects the teachings outlined in the liturgical documents and of Vatican II, with a central emphasis placed on the musical forms specifically recommended to the faithful by the council fathers as the fullest and most perfect expression of music in the sacred liturgy.  As both forms of the Roman Rite are celebrated at St. Nicholas church, a unique opportunity exists to explore some examples of some of the repertoire not normally able to be performed as a part of the post-Vatican II liturgy.

Although no previous experience reading or performing music is necessary, it is helpful.  Rehearsals begin at 7:00 AM on Sunday mornings, and the choir and/or instrumental musicians participate weekly at the 8:45 AM (Extraordinary Form) and 10:30 (Ordinary Form) liturgies.  For more information, please contact Steven Ball at (609) 515-5857 or This email address is being protected from spambots.
