Welcome to Saint Monica Parish, a vibrant and diverse Catholic community located in the heart of Atlantic City, New Jersey. Our parish is dedicated to serving God and our neighbors through faith, worship, and service.
The Parish of Saint Monica serves all of Atlantic City. It includes the churches of Our Lady Star of the Sea, St. Nicholas of Tolentine, and St. Michael.
The parish has special ministries for Hispanic, Vietnamese, and Black Catholics and sponsors Our Lady Star of the Sea School, the only Catholic school on Absecon Island.
In 2015 the four Catholic Parishes in Atlantic City united in to form the citywide Parish of Saint Monica.
The term parish refers to the territory we serve, the municipal boundaries of Atlantic City, and our corporate identity. Therefore, all property (e.g., real estate, bank accounts) is held in the name of the Parish of Saint Monica. The churches in the parish are still known by their original names. The Parish of Saint Mónica is part of the Diocese of Camden.
At the Saint Monica Parish, worship is at the heart of everything we do. Through the celebration of the Sacraments and our communal prayer, we deepen our relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ and with one another.
We provide preparation for Baptism, First Communion, Confirmation, Marriage, and other Sacraments, guiding individuals and families in their spiritual journey.
At the Parish of Saint Monica, we believe in living out the Gospel by serving those in need and building a stronger, more compassionate community in Atlantic City.
Our outreach programs aim to reflect Christ’s love through acts of kindness, support, and advocacy.
At the Parish of Saint Monica, we are committed to helping our parishioners deepen their relationship with God and grow in their faith. We offer a variety of programs and opportunities designed to inspire spiritual development for individuals and families at every stage of life.
RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults): For those interested in becoming Catholic or completing their Sacraments, RCIA provides a welcoming and supportive journey into the faith.
Liturgical Ministry Opportunities: Grow spiritually by actively participating in our liturgies as a Lector, Altar Server, Choir member, or Eucharistic Minister.
The Parish of Saint Monica is proud to have over 1,200 faithful families registered, each contributing to the vibrant and diverse heart of our community. Together, we grow in love, serve with purpose, and share the joy of Christ.
At the heart of our parish, we celebrate the beautiful coexistence of four unique communities, each bringing their own traditions, languages, and cultures. Together, we are one family in Christ, sharing faith, love, and a common mission to serve and grow in unity.
The Parish of Saint Monica is blessed to manage three stunning historic churches in Atlantic City, each a testament to our rich heritage and vibrant faith community. These sacred spaces stand as beacons of hope, welcoming all to worship and celebrate God’s love.
The Parish of Saint Monica is proud to support Our Lady Star of the Sea School, the only Catholic school on Absecon Island. Together, we are nurturing minds, shaping hearts, and building a future rooted in faith and knowledge.

Our parish is a beautiful reflection of the diversity and vibrancy of Atlantic City. Together, we are united in our mission to bring the Gospel of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, to life through worship, service, and community. Despite facing the challenge of very limited economic resources, our parish is filled with the spirit of hope, love, and faith that drives us forward.
I invite you to support our parish in whatever way you can—through your prayers, your talents, your time, or your financial contributions. Your generosity helps us sustain our ministries, maintain our 3 churches, and continue our mission of sharing God’s Word with the world.
May God bless you abundantly, and may His peace be with you always.
