Vietnamese Ministry

Welcome to The Vietnamese Ministry!

The Vietnamese ministry was established at Our Lady Star of the Sea parish in July 1990 by Fr. Paul Hao Trinh., Fr. Joseph An Nguyen and Fr. Joe Luong Pham followed him, then later served as pastor of Our Lady Star of the Sea.

The ministry continues as part of the citywide Parish of Saint Monica.

It is led by Fr. Cyrille Loi Duc Tran, CSF, and a leadership team. Its annual events are the Feast of the Martyrs of Vietnam in November and the Vietnamese New Year in January or February.

Located within Saint Monica Parish in Atlantic City, New Jersey, the Catholic Vietnamese Ministry has been a vibrant spiritual home for the Vietnamese Catholic community for 34 years. Founded with the mission of preserving and celebrating the rich traditions of Vietnamese faith and culture, the ministry serves as a beacon of hope and unity.

Vietnamese Ministry Celebrations

Through its liturgies, which often incorporate Vietnamese language and customs, the ministry fosters a deep connection to God and heritage. It also organizes community events, catechetical programs, and cultural celebrations, such as the Lunar New Year (Tết) and the Feast of the Holy Martyrs of Vietnam.

Our Core ValueS AS COMMUNITY

Rooted in the teachings of Jesus Christ and the Catholic Church, we strive to live and share our faith with unwavering devotion, placing God at the center of all we do.

We honor and celebrate the richness of Vietnamese culture and traditions, integrating them into our worship, community life, and spiritual practices.

We foster a welcoming and inclusive environment, building strong bonds of fellowship within our ministry and the larger parish family.

Inspired by Christ’s example, we dedicate ourselves to serving those in need, both within our community and beyond, through acts of love, kindness, and charity.

As part of Saint Monica Parish, we embrace the diversity of our parish community, working in harmony with other ministries to build a unified body of Christ.
