Pastoral Care Visits Are Available to our Parishioners who are Sick and Homebound.
“I was sick, and you visited me.”
Parishioners of Saint Monica Parish who are homebound and unable to attend Church are in need of our support and prayer. They may feel isolated from our faith community, and most importantly, they hunger for the Real Presence of the Eucharist during their time of illness.
Pastoral care visitation to homebound parishioners involves an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion (EMHC) or a member of the Saint Monica Parish clergy (such as Deacon Mike Bortnowski) visiting those parishioners who are homebound (either short-term or long-term) and unable to come to church.
To request that a parishioner be added to the list of homebound parishioners to receive a pastoral care visit, please contact the parish office at (609) 345-1878 or send an email to: deaconmike@accatholic.org
Ensure that those who are unable to attend Mass can still receive the Body of Christ, maintaining their spiritual connection to the Church.
The Eucharist is the source and summit of the Catholic faith, and sharing it with the homebound affirms their inclusion in the community of faith.
Offer prayers, scripture readings, and spiritual companionship to uplift the faith and hope of the homebound.
This fosters a sense of belonging and reminds them that they are not forgotten by their parish or the Church.
Facilitate access to other sacraments, such as Reconciliation (Confession) and Anointing of the Sick, when needed.
These sacraments bring healing, forgiveness, and strength during times of physical or emotional difficulty.
Act as a bridge between the homebound and the parish community, sharing parish news and updates, and encouraging mutual prayers.
This helps the homebound feel like active members of the Church, despite their physical absence.
Welcome to our online community!
